چکیده
Context: Microsporidiosis is an emerging disease in both immunocompetent and immunocompromised patients. Diagnosis of human microsporidiosis challenging. Parasitological tests using staining methods have limitations for detecting spores stool samples. The performance molecular diagnosing satisfactory, but these are expensive time-consuming. Serodiagnosis the detection antibodies insufficient specificity. Detecting microsporidia antigens seems to be appropriate method microsporidiosis. Therefore, present study reviewed serological approaches assess current status Evidence Acquisition: All related published articles were searched. search terms “microsporidiosis”, “microsporidiasis”, “human microsporidiosis”, microsporidiasis”, combined with “diagnosis”, “serodiagnosis”, “immunodiagnosis”, “antigen detection”, “antibody detection”. Data extracted from that met our eligibility criteria. Immunodiagnosis studies experimentally infected animals excluded. Results: Few evaluated IgG response against spore wall protein or polar tube remains at least three years after infection shows more cross-reactivity other species. western blot should conducted as a confirmatory method. monoclonal showed less efficacy compared polyclonal antibodies. Conclusions: Indirect fluorescent antibody test based on highly effective species clinical
